Position Description

The successful candidate will provide pipeline engineering expertise to aid in the execution of the Company’s onshore and offshore projects and ongoing operations. The job functions include:

• To act as a focal point/technical authority for pipeline engineering questions throughout the engineering design, construction and installation phases of Company’s pipeline projects, most of which are offshore.
• To provide pipeline engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
• To act as Company authority for the review of the pipeline aspects of Design Bases, design drawings, specifications, installation procedures, etc. 
• To act as required as the Company representative (pipelines) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes
• To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies and installation delays.
• To assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the pipeline engineering aspects of Facilities design.
• To assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation (e.g. as related to pipe laying, risers, tie-ins, hydrotesting, welding, etc.)
• To initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including surveys, permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures, testing, etc.
• To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
• To assist in the development Nigerian pipeline engineers.

Position Description

The successful candidate will provide pipeline engineering expertise to aid in the execution of the Company’s onshore and offshore projects and ongoing operations. Other functions include:

• Co-ordinate the pipeline engineering aspects of projects to ensure that technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
• Monitor and review Contractors pipeline engineering effort and make recommendations to Senior Engineering Co-ordinator.
• Draft/ review/ approve the pipeline route survey and laying work processes.
• Prepare the documentation required by the necessary regulatory bodies with special reference to the pipeline route survey and laying works.
• Prepare and maintain the BOD for the pipeline project in order to ensure that all disciplines work to consistent and up-to-date information. The BOD will be maintained in a “current” condition throughout the project phases by regular review and updates.
• Develop specifications for the design, material selection, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the various pipelines in service with Company.
• Maintain pipeline records of all existing pipelines in order to avoid unplanned pipeline crossings, etc.
• Co-ordinate land acquisitions and secure pipeline right of way (ROW) easement.
• Co-ordinate and develop pipeline engineering plans and specifications including pig launchers and receivers, leak detection systems and flow measurements.
• Ensure that Addax quality control procedures are being followed while performing the various tasks on the project as per QMS and PQP.
• Perform engineering calculations for onshore and offshore pipelines, in accordance with international codes and standards and specific project requirements.
• Interact with other disciplines as required for design development on projects and with Contractors / Vendors / PSC department. Co-ordinate with other lead engineers for interdisciplinary tasks.

• To provide mechanical engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs are consistent.
• To act as Company authority for the review of Design Bases, design drawings, specifications, etc. 
• To act as required as the Company representative (Mechanical) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes
• To monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions related to mechanical design.
• To assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the mechanical engineering aspects of Facilities design.
• To assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation
• To initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures, testing, etc.
• To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews.
• To assist in the development Nigerian mechanical engineer

The successful candidates will provide structural engineering expertise to aid in the execution of the Company’s onshore and offshore projects and ongoing operations. Other job functions include:

• To provide a focal point for the resolution of structural engineering questions from conceptual engineering through to detailed design and construction.  Act as Company representative for the review of Design Bases, design drawings and specifications, etc.  Provide structural engineering input to other discipline specialists to assure that design outputs are consistent.
• To act as the Company representative (as required) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes, in particular, API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, etc.
• Assist Company resident or project engineers with structural engineering aspects of Facilities design.  Scope includes new Facilities structures, modifications like deck extensions to existing structures etc
• Initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including surveys, permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures, testing, etc.
• Have thorough knowledge of design of offshore oil production facilities, have ability to utilise common structural design software programs(e.g. SACS) for structural design and analysis,
• Assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation such as related to pile driving, lifting, Transportaion, Loadout and welding, etc.,
• Monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions.

Position Requirements

• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.

• Minimum 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry with at least 10 years experience working with design contractors.

Position Description

The successful candidate will lead departmental efforts in scoping and executing Front End Engineering studies as a first step in new projects and modifications to existing facilities. Typical projects include gas compression, treating and conditioning, water Injection facilities, offshore wellhead platforms design and construction, offshore/onshore pipelines engineering and construction and modifications to a number of existing production and wellhead platforms, together with all associated pipelines. other job functions include:

• Scope and execute Front-End Engineering and Conceptual Design studies as required.
• Work with other APDNL departments to develop FDP’s and other miscellaneous field development concepts.
• Ensure Technical Justification documentation is routinely prepared in readiness for Technical Change Panel review meetings to be chaired by the Engineering Manager.
• Co-ordinate update of Project Design and Engineering procedures in consultation with the QA/QC section.
• Supervise the performance of Consultants providing Design and Engineering services for the Project.
• Lead and participate in Technical reviews and Safety and Operability studies as they relate to Front-End work.
• Prepare technical justifications and documentation for all required permits and licenses, in close liaison with other Company departments (PSC, NCD, Contracts etc).
• Track and expedite progress of all pending permit and license applications.
• Initiate and manage Engineering contracts for Front-End engineering, soil investigation, pipeline route surveys, front-end studies, etc.
• Prepare budgets for all front-end activities and raise corresponding Approval –For- Expenditure Requests (AFE’s) and monitor the same.
• Provide monthly and weekly progress reports, including areas of concern, key activities / milestones, progress versus plan and activities look ahead for ongoing Engineering activities.

Position Requirements

Minimum of 18 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, with at least 8 years in a similar position. Operating company and Nigerian / West African experience preferred.

Position Description

Basic computer literacy (AUTO CADD, MS Word, Excel, Project, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint)

• Must have worked as a piping design engineer/senior piping engineer for an Engineering Design company involved in Oil and Gas projects or an Operator for 10 years.
